Dr. Gerald Hoch

Dr. Gerald Hoch was born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey. He received his undergraduate education at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He graduated New York University (NYU) Dental School with high distinction and went on to complete his orthodontic residency there as well. At NYU, he was elected to OKU, the Dental Honors Fraternity. Dr. Gerald has been teaching at NYU since 2007 as a post-graduate orthodontic attending.

Prior to starting his orthodontics practice, Dr. Hoch served in the Army Dental Corp. The first year being stationed at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Ga. The second year he was stationed in Vietnam.

Dr. Hoch opened the doors to his orthodontic practice in 1973 with an office in Jackson, New Jersey. Two years later, he opened a second office in Matawan. His son, Dr. Andrew Hoch, joined the practice in 2005.

Dr. Andrew Hoch

Dr. Andrew Hoch was born and raised in Holmdel, New Jersey. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and went on to attend dental school at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine.

At the University of Pennsylvania Dr. Hoch completed a one-year long Advanced Education in General Dentistry program before finishing a three-year postgraduate orthodontic residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York. Dr. Hoch excelled in his residency, earning the distinction of Chief Resident in his final year.

Dr. Andrew Hoch has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics since 2007 – the highest honor awarded in the field, by the only specialty licensing board that is recognized by both the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association.

Susan is one of our front desk receptionists. She has been working with the practice since 1987. When not in the office, she enjoys listening to music, going to the theatre, and seeing the world. She also loves spending time with her husband, two children and her golden retriever, Max.

Lynne has been part of the practice as a front desk receptionist since 1991. She enjoys going to the theatre and spending time with her three grandsons when she is not at work.

Michele has been working with the practice since 1987, but had 9 years of dental experience before joining us. She is a chairside assistant and enjoys going to the beach, biking, and knitting.

Lori is a chairside assistant in our office. She joined our team in 2002. She really enjoys photography, painting, going to the beach with her husband and two children.

Kelly is also a chairside assistant, a phenomenal bowler and an adamant Yankee fan. She loves the beach, too. Prior to joining Hoch Orthodontics in 1999, she had 11 years of dental experience.

Anne Marie is a front desk receptionist who joined Hoch Orthodontics in 2002, but has been working in the field for many years. When she is not at work, she enjoys reading and watching her children's sporting events.

Marie is a chairside assistant in our office who joined the team in 2001. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.

Lauren is one of the chairside assistants in our office.  She joined our team in 2008, and has been doing orthodontic assisting since 2001. When she is not in the office you will find her at the local drag strip, where she is a member of Caliendo Racing.

Toni is also a chairside assistant, who recently joined us in 2010.  Her original background was in accounting and recently received her dental assisting license in 2008.  She enjoys playing the piano, going to the theatre, and working out.

Joyce is Dr. Gerald Hoch's wife and Dr. Andrew Hoch's mother. She is a big help around the office. She occasionally assists in the front desk reception area and also does all of the office bookkeeping. She and Dr. Hoch love spending time with their family and also love playing golf.

Hoch Orthodontics is located on Reids Hill Road in Aberdeen-Matawan, which is on the corner of Van Brackle and Rt. 34 (located next to the Shop Rite shopping center). For directions to our office click here.

Our office is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We are also open one Saturday per month.
